Bookings
How do I book an appointment?
Call the reception of the clinic you want to visit: Auburn on (02) 9649 6027, or Lakemba on (02) 9759 0947. You can also send an online enquiry and we will call you back to confirm a time.
Why do bookings go through the medical centre and not a physio line?
Because reception holds the live appointment diary, and we are usually with a patient. We practise inside NAS Advanced Medical Centre in Auburn and United Medical Centre in Lakemba, using each centre's reception, rooms, and booking system. Calling the centre is the fastest way to get a time, and someone always answers.
When should I use the mobile number instead?
Call 0450 389 422 for NDIS, Aged Care, home visits or a general enquiry. That is the physio's direct line and those are arranged with them, not through a medical centre. For an appointment at the Auburn or Lakemba clinic, call that clinic's reception instead, because reception holds the live diary. You can also email hello@stepbystepphysio.com.au.
Do I need a referral?
No, not for most services. A GP referral is only needed for Medicare EPC, and you will need a claim number for WorkCover or CTP.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Bring any referrals, scans or reports, comfortable clothing, and your Medicare or NDIS details.
Can I get home visits?
Yes, for eligible NDIS and WorkCover patients across Auburn and Lakemba. Ask when you book and we will let you know whether you qualify.
What are your opening hours?
Auburn is open four days a week and Lakemba two. We are closed at all other times.

Fees and funding
Do you bulk bill?
We bulk bill eligible Medicare EPC referrals. Ask reception about your funding options when you book.
Do you offer aged care services and home visits?
Yes. We provide physiotherapy, exercise physiology and occupational therapy for older adults, at our clinics or in your own home across Auburn, Lakemba and the surrounding suburbs. Home visits and aged care are arranged directly with the physio on 0450 389 422, not through a medical centre reception.
Do you support NDIS plans?
Yes, for self-managed, plan-managed, and eligible agency-managed participants across our services. For NDIS enquiries, call the physio directly on 0450 389 422 rather than a clinic reception.
Can you manage my WorkCover or CTP claim?
Yes. We manage the certificates and reporting and liaise with your insurer, so you can focus on recovery rather than paperwork.
Your care
How long is an appointment?
Initial appointments run longer than follow-ups, to allow time for a full assessment. Your therapist will tell you what to expect for your own plan.
Which services are at each clinic?
Both clinics offer physiotherapy, exercise physiology, and remedial massage. Occupational therapy and speech pathology are based at Auburn.
